Taking Sustainable Development into account

" Sustainable Development is a form of development which meets current needs without compromising the ability of future generations to satisfy their needs. "
Brundtland Commission, 1987

Man's current way of living, of consuming and of working makes him the most frightening danger to the well-being of the planet. Fortunately, everyone, whether a company or an individual, is able to turn their back on behaviour, action and commitments which go against their deep-seated aspirations and beliefs.

Thus, a company is today able to create value without destroying social and environmental balance. Company's today have every opportunity to show respect for the environment by adopting a political and management-led approach qualified as " sustainable and responsible".

For a company, it means adopting an overall, ethical vision, in which it declares its intention of developing a workable "ecosystem".

Incorporating social and environmental concerns with economic concerns constitutes today a major corporate challenge for companies.

Incorporating social and environmental concerns with economic concerns means making sustainable development a reality.

Such a concern has today become an absolutely essential issue :
De l'actionnaire, qui s'intéresse de plus en plus aux entreprises socialement responsables (fonds d'éthique).
Shareholders' attention is drawn more and more towards companies which are seen as being "socially-responsible" (ethics-related).

Consumers today are no longer passive - they have become more responsible in their purchasing habits, playing a more active role in the consumption process.

Both of these key players demand greater truth, safety, quality and transparency.
Furthermore, rating institutes confirm that companies which have made efforts in these areas have produced improved results in terms of medium-term growth.
